Homeopathy

Homeopathy is a system of medicine that uses the principle “like cures like”.   To do this, homeopaths match what discomforts you are experiencing to what medicine is known to improve those discomforts.  The medicines used are gentle, but work quickly and thoroughly.

Osteopathy

Through habitual posture, trauma/injury and every day wear and tear, the body tries to find balance in any way to keep you erect and moving forward through gravity. Oftentimes these positions and postures change the relationship between the framework of the body (spine, joints etc.) and the tissues that stabilize and connect one area to another. Those tissues house the vital pathways of artery, nerve, vein and lymph and their connections act as mechanical lines of force that promote motion and coordination. Changes to those lines of force impede the vital pathways, restrict range of motion and disrupt physiologic functions of the body’s systems.

The body has many ways of expressing its dysfunction other than a localized area of pain. It can be expressed through:

  • Sleeping disruptions
  • Headaches
  • Lack of coordination and balance
  • Digestive issues
  • Respiratory issues
  • Neurological dysfunction

These are ways of the body communicating that there is something maladjusted and not properly functioning. Oftentimes the signs of dysfunction are ignored until it becomes a greater issue, and that being the case usually has a bigger physiological expression.

Osteopathy is a non-invasive manual therapy, which treats the body as a whole and is founded in a philosophy that believes the structure and the function of the body are interconnected. Through gentle and rhythmic manual adjustment, Osteopathic manual therapy aims to bring balance back to the framework and the mechanical lines of force, freeing the vital pathways from obstruction and facilitating the body’s natural ability to self-heal and self-regulate. Osteopathy seeks to find and treat the root cause of the dysfunction and not to simply remove the symptoms of discord.
